Attorney Shinyoung Chu from ELPS delivered a presentation at the "Policy Discussion on Methane Reduction in the Energy Sector" held at the National Assembly. His presentation focused on the topic of "Legal Regulations and Possible Improvement Measures for Methane Emissions by Major Sources." He pointed out that in South Korea, the major sources of methane emissions include agriculture, waste, and energy sectors, and as of now, there are few direct legal regulations in place for methane emissions in these respective fields. He emphasized the urgency of implementing legal and regulatory improvements tailored to the characteristics of major methane emission sources for effective reduction.
